Meaningless Ordinances

What good are ordinances if they aren't enforced? Why bother to tell the public that you are going to do something if you really aren't?

Not long ago, the residents of Wilkes-Barre Twp. voted to prohibit BYOB clubs from operating within the township. Strip clubs are permitted to exist, but they are not permitted to allow patrons to bring their own alcohol.

Flying in the face of this, you have Gentlemen's Club 10. Club 10 clearly has no regard for the will of the people of Wilkes-Barre Twp. In their ads, they broadcast the fact that they are still operating as a BYOB club even after 80% of local voters voted that they could not.

In addition to this, we have our local politicians who haven't yet stopped this from happening. They make themselves look weak and ineffective by promising to take a stand, yet never delivering on their promise.

While all this occurs, the rest of us take note of the ways that Gentlemen's Club 10 violates local ordinances and their patrons and dancers engage in illegal or immoral activity.

  • 1. Patrons are frequently seen drinking in the parking lot.
  • 2. Dancers are rumored to be having sex with customers.
  • 3. The "operating hours ordinance" is violated.
  • 4. The "distance between dancers and customers ordinance" is violated.
  • 5. Customers are parking in the lots of other local businesses (and often being towed).
  • 6. A prostitute has been hired to dance at the club.
  • 7. Pornography agencies are contacted to bring porn actresses to the area.

It's not good, but it won't be around forever. You can count on it.

  • once again why won't you answer the question from those on both sides of this issue as to why you are altering pictures to post? this is very diturbing as well because it puts doubt in minds as to creditbility.

  • I think the zoning codes answered that a few days ago that they are legal in their operation.

  • None of the pictures are altered as you suggest. Sorry to disappoint you.

I do find it interesting to note that you find a new way to criticize the pictures every time they are posted. That is especially odd because you often tell me they don't bother you.

But if it will wet your appetite a little, let me say this....we have some very special pictures coming sometime soon. You won't be disappointed.

  • I live in W-BTwp, so it was not a great shock to me read that the Twp. officials have no regard for the wishes of the people with anything. #4 distance between dancers and customers being violated. No rumors there. It is coming out in the wash from the customers themselves.

  • BYOB...Gandfather clause. And all the other ordinaces you mentioned, where NOT in effect when they got their permit, so they can not be held to them. Any new club will have to follow them.
How many times do you have to be told this before it sinks in.

  • To Mr. family: You should read this article from Dr. James Dobson Focus on the Family-- here's the sddress
    http://www.family.org.fofinag/cl/a0026166.cfm

    here's a quote
"Christians should not ruch to believe, much less repeat
    unsubstantiated gossip.
As we damage our creditibilty, so we damage
our ability to witness to the ultimate truth of the gospel",
    You really should be ashamed.

  • The last picture you posted was altered in some form. You can plainly see that it was taken when the sun was still up from the reflection on the hood of the vehicle. Yet on the sides of car, near the top it is pitch black, there would be light there if it was taken during the day.
And once again it was illegally taken, as the closeness of the shot. Breaking the law to feed your campaign. Very moral.

  • In speaking to some people of club they feel that all is going well and within township regulations and codes so there doesn't seem much that you can do with this scenario with regard to township ordinances. Hate to bust your bubble.

  • Mr. Family, you are still the coward of Luzerne County.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:52 PM

  • I just watched a commercial for the Gentlemen's Club during Conan O'Brian's show. It aired at 1:15am. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:20 PM

  • Hi, Mr. Family,
It is quite apparent with these clubber comments that not only are they crying about the pictures that "don't" bother them, but are also in quite a dither about ordinances as well, desperately glossing over them to the end! For example, I didn't know that hours violations and a close distance between dancers and customers was grandfathered in! Just two more clear examples of how sneaky Sal's intent was!
Then to top that off, one is still talking about Christianity to support their evil lifestyles! That is really a shame! Apparently it is hard for all of them to face the truth!

  • Mr. Family stated in "Meaningless Ordinances" the following:

    ----
    * 1. Patrons are frequently seen drinking in the parking lot.
    * 2. Dancers are rumored to be having sex with customers.
    * 3. The "operating hours ordinance" is violated.
    * 4. The "distance between dancers and customers ordinance" is violated.
    * 5. Customers are parking in the lots of other local businesses (and often being towed).
    * 6. A prostitute has been hired to dance at the club.
    * 7. Pornography agencies are contacted to bring porn actresses to the area.
    ---

Mr. Family, can you please state your sources, point for point, on your above statements? Especially points 1 through 5 since they seem hearsay, and as far as points 6 and 7, please elaborate on (point 6) if she is still a prostitute and (point 7) define "pornography agencies" as to their illegality.

  • anon 918 if you want to check into lack of morality, the club has more than you can handle..
10ll will feed you crap besides

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:25 AM

  • Oh 5.52 there is something very important that you need to learn. people who have high morals are not affected by slurs. you see they maintain an impenetrable shield of selfrespect and dignity which makes it impossible for idiotic foolishness to penetrate. at the same time that shield bounces off the slurs back to the fool.

  • Mr. Family:

RE: a follow-up to my e-mail to you dated Wed., July 19, concerning the pertinent and confidential information.

That information had changed slightly and temporarily. However as of this writing, that information has become profoundly significant.

If you wish to contact me by e-mail and do not have my e-address, please inform me through a blog and I will send a "testing" e-mail through to you first.

idea for a band wagon to help people.....go to a thrift store to buy clothes for the naked

  • It seems that not too many women are minding Gentlemen's Club 10 today. I was there last night between 7pm and 11pm for an all male revue. And let me tell you that myself and all 200 or so women aren't complaining today. I stayed after for the women dancers and they were great too. I can't wait for the next one!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2:25 PM

  • I think some of you are confusing the Grandfather Clause with Santa Claus. The strip club cannot do anything it pleases simply because it's the first one in the township and the elected officials who are letting this go on should be grandfathered right out of office next time voters go to the polls.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3:45 PM

  • Mr. Family not only do we have a strip club with female danceers but now gclub 10 decided to bring in male strippers and entertain the ladies and what a crow of ladies they had the other evening...wow the poor people of WB Twp. are really getting hit hard with this club. Will it ever stop?

  • anon 2:25 personally, I am not impressed with you bragging about your simple-minded lust and the other 200(?) women who are so hard up to have a respectable relationship, that anyone has to pay and gawk just to be sexually, immaturely "entertained."

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:52 AM

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, anony. 2:25, but your comments are very indicative of being a club employee.
I hardly think a patron would so clearly emphazise the name of the club, the exact time of attendance, followed by remaining to promote the female aspect of the club.
It's also quite suspicious that you have seemed to taken a poll on the reaction of the 200 female patrons the day after.
Sorry, too much overwhelming advertisement comments to be construed merely as a being a patron who can't wait for the next time.

  • Mr. Family it's time for you to do your home work friend. Perhaps there is a way around getting all these BYOB clubs closed. The State of PA has some very ridged labor laws and unless employers comply there are very heavy penalties, example the PA workman's compensation laws states: "the employer and those individuals responsible to act on its behalf may each be criminally charged for each day’s failure to maintain continuous workers’ compensation coverage. Misdemeanor convictions can result in the potential imposition of a $2,500 fine and up to one year imprisonment for each day the employer is in violation of the requirement to maintain worker’s compensation coverage. Felony convictions can result in the potential imposition of a $15,000 fine and up to seven years imprisonment for each day the employer intentionally violated this requirement". Yes dancers are considered independent contractors and most of the clubs require a dancer to rebate the club about $25.00 per night that she works (This is how a club makes extra cash) so dancers may be exempt. But there are also people that work as employees in these clubs, DJ's, bouncers, hostesses, etc and if the are not being reported and working for cash there are even more violations under employment laws.

  • Eric, you might consider spending a little more time on your own site, correcting some of the myriad errors there. As for the females who pay to watch male strippers, the joke is on them because it is well known in the sex industry that the vast majority of male strippers are gay.

It is very nice of you to point out the employment laws of PA, however here is something to consider. My best friend is employed as an independent contractor in the adult business. She pays quarterly taxes, votes and is an active member of her township. She also files the taxes of many of her co-workers, explaining to the negative effects of not reporting can have on their futures, i.e. tax evasion charges, and non-establishment of any credit. The other employees of the club that you mention are on a club's payroll. Many of which report any tips they receive for the same reason that the entertainers are also claiming. The idea that people still believe that these clubs and employees of said clubs are "bad" citizens, goes to show that you are living in a different time. Years ago women did not feel that reporting thier tips was the way to go. Now a day, they understand the idea of making investments towards thier future and the only way to do that is by being upstanding citizens.
Mr. Family, you know who I am referring to as my best friend. She is doing well, health wise, however she has so much else going on in her life right now. She could use as much support from her friends as possible. She always speaks highly of you and wishes you well. Blessings!

  • anon 7:38 Please don't repeat yourself 3 times once is enough. Secondly perhaps some dancers do report their tips however, in talking to many dancers NO! THEY DO NOT REPORT! This is why they say they are doing this type of work, because it's unreported cash.. Perhaps your not aware that America has a very multi million dollar underground economy and strip club dancers are a part of it. AMEN

  • as are waitresses, bus boys, hair dressers and anyone that works for tips. do you really think only strip club workers do not report taxes? if you do you all live in a very small world.

  • So is every waitress in this valley. And ever landscaping company that has people working under the table. But oh yeah, they are ok, cause they are not stippers.
And do you have proof that the girls do not report there tips? No you don't. Just another accusation by the club haters looking for any excuse they can to spread the hate.

  • Dancers are rumored to be having sex with customers.

A rumor is just that, a rumor, and un-substantiated w/ out proof. I'm sorry but every strip club in the world has those rumors. It means nothing.

The "distance between dancers and customers ordinance" is violated.

How do you know this? Have you been going in to "research" your cause?

Customers are parking in the lots of other local businesses (and often being towed).

If they're being towed, then what's your problem? They're not supposed to be there and they're being towed away because of it. Shouldn't you be happy about that?

A prostitute has been hired to dance at the club.

Obviously this relates to your 'rumor' of the above. If this alleged prostitute was hired legally then all she is doing for the club is taking off her clothes and she's not a prostitute inside the club. And again, how would you even know? Have you, Mr. Family, maybe been to see her and know personally that she is in fact selling her sexual favors out side the club, and now you've seen her inside?

Seriously...why are you posting such unfounded drivel?
