  • If it makes you feel better, there were about 120 cars at the club tonight at 12:30. I drove by after hitting the GameStop for a midnight sale. Club was packed. Not a spot was open in the parking lot.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:05 AM

  • Aha! bomerang p-c crap! 12:05...wasn't it said on here by a p-c'er that when Mr. Family drove by and estimated cars in gclub's lot, about 30, that is was unsafe of him to drive and notice how many cars in the lot??? Really now, who can drive by, count 120 cars, and keep their eyes safely on the road???? your story sounds absurd!

  • Can somebody with a reasonable mind inform me about the laws pertaining to clubs being open after 2 a.m. Doesn't the LCB have to enforce that law besides the WBT ordinance violation?
    Somebody getting paid off?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3:28 PM

  • LCB has little (no?) jurisdiction over a BYOB club. If the club provided alcohol, and thus, had a LCB license, it would be a different story.

Again, I have provided a skeletal explanation of PA law concerning vested rights, nonconforming uses, etc. Mr. F, your article notes the treatment in Louisiana, which, again, has a different constitution than Pennsylvania. Ask any land use attorney - PA arguably is the most protective of any state with respect to property. "Do it, do it!" will not get those ordinances enforced. W-B Twp. realizes the lawsuit waiting if they start enforcing it.

Honestly -- I respect your cause, and I wish for the result you seek. But, your posts are recapitulations and rehashings of past posts and arguments. I do not know how you can readjust your plight, but I think it is clear that this blog is not the solution to GC10.

  • Well, My estimate of 120 was guessed. Mainly by the fact that the each row of spots was taken from the first all the way back to EFO. Easily more than 20 cars per row. 6 rows...do the math.
    Regardless the place was packed.
And I actually slowed down to look, and laughed when I saw the amount of cars, As Mr.Family tells us all, no on is going to the club. I assure you, my post was not absurd. The club packs them in on the weekends.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:36 AM

  • And to Anon 3:28, the club makes an annoucnemnt all the time around 1:30 am, that it is last call. After 2 am, people can not have alcohol in the club.
If you do not claim your beer, and take it back to your car they will toss it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:38 AM

  • The LCD cant enforce that law as long as nobody is drinking after 2am. They take all alchol off the floor at 2am so being the place doesnt sell alchol the LCB has no say in what happens there. As for the township if they didnt want it they shouldnt have allowed the zoning of it. Nothing passed after they gave the permit out will stick no matter how much of your money they waste trying to close it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 1:59 AM

  • This sounds to me like the clubbers are begging for more car pics to be posted. They're always asking for proof about something or other, so give them the proof to let their families know where they were.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:32 AM

  • 328 pm- the club does NOT HAVE a liquor license, hence they can stay open all night if they choose.
The casino HAS a liquor licesnse but they are exempt from closing law.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:55 AM

  • to 255 it's absurd as well as unsafe to drive by and count ANY number of cars, one's eyes should be on the road when driving ( state law) wreckless driving.
Mr family had three or four threads (times) where he claimed to drive by and count cars.
I got rear ended by a woman
who was waving to a friend in the car in the next lane, she did not notice traffic was stopped.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:06 AM

  • we have been through this
several times now. Why not go to a township meeting and express your concerns, mr family? You not getting anywhere repeating it here on this blog.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:24 AM

  • no alcohol can be served after 2:00 am per PA LCB, but this club and others like it are BYOB. I think at 2:00 am the clubs must clear any alcohol from the building but are still permitted to stay open. they can stay open 24 hrs if they wanted to.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:50 AM

  • on oct 11 blog mr family says " I guess I can not blame the leadership of wilkes-barre township for being hestitant to foot the bill to battle yet another lawsuit from the club"... now mr family says enforce the ordinances, you cannot have it both ways mr family.
let's deal in truths rather than runors and speculations.
The club has been operating for over 8 months. No credible police complaints, no complaints about property value decreases, in fact a new buiding is going up next to the club--to enforce these ordinances the county has to prove some sort of harmful effect the permitting of these activities has caused such as lap dancing. it would be hard for the township to claim lap danicng causes prostitution when there have been no arrests for prostitution at the club or near the club. That is a fact check the police reports.

  • You know what I think the club building should have been---an adult club. Yes, that's right---a club where real adults could attend, like a dinner theatre or a restaurant that contracts real talented performers on stage. Instead we get the low of the low catered to---sinking in to this valley---and all these stupid arguments about counting cars and defending the rights to have g-strings or not. (really smart)
At least this website lets us know how mindless some are in our midst.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4:26 PM

  • 12:36 Don't keep us in suspense. Tell us the bulk of the chapters that belong to the story. How many times did you drive by and count cars when the club's lot was scarce?
Thanks for the assurance so that we all could laugh at the hardup weekenders who can't get dates. Paying is the only way they can get a woman to pay attention to them. Something's wrong somewhere there.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:14 PM

  • oh come on 214, get rational already, will ya. it's a dive joint with filthy activities PERIOD. and no white coated comments are going to make it any cleaner. truth. no rumor. no speculation.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:30 PM

  • to 514- using your logic- I guess people who can't get dates go to church social and single meetings- praying is the only way they can get dates--
How wonder how many times mr family drove by the club and found the parking lot full and did not tell us--
    it works both ways-

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:55 AM

  • to 530pm it may be a dive to you, but not to osme people--perhaps the filth is more in your mind, neertheless, it doesn't change the fact that mr family flop-fopped on this issue more than Jon kerry.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:58 AM

  • Happy Thanksgiving everyone. And yes, You too Mr.Family. Differences aside, have a safe Holiday

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:59 PM

  • You too bro. Thank you. Have a great Thanksgiving.

By Blogger Mr. Family, at 7:05 PM

  • Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Mr. Choice...and to everyone!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:15 AM

  • 11:55 Using my sound logic versus your strange theory, a dateless guy watching a stripper isn't known as having a date. People who go to church socials or singles meetings aren't paying some woman for a few fleeting moments of empty attention. They are graciously and responsibly socializing and don't have to worry about being seen sneaking into some sleazy place. If they pray, it doesn't cost anything.

This campaign continues because of any amount of cars Mr. Family sees in the parking lot.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:48 AM

  • to 648 am- people go there by choice, It is a choice whether one goes there alone, with a date or a buddy, the vast majority of people do not worry if they make the mr family once a month car photo, the odds are better they will win the lottery.
and the guys tip the girls, know the girl is working, they do not expect anything else, after all it is their time and money

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:17 PM

  • From my atheist perspective, since I don't go to either strip clubs or church socials, I'd say the main difference is that the girls at the strip club are being objectified, while the ones at church socials are not.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:28 PM

  • 12:17 the point was since it's a male pleasure joint and supposed to be packed on weekends, you can't convince me it's mostly couples, ie, it's packed with guys who can't get dates. Yeah, it's their time, their money, but it's our community of the majority that's going down skid row.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3:02 AM

  • to 302 am- no its not packed with guys who can't get dates, but rather guys who choose not to date on a certain evening. the fact also is that these type places have really been around since the area was settled and coal was king.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 6:53 AM

  • 6:53, a whole bunch of guys decide not to get dates on the weekend. okaaaaaaay...sure, whatever you want to believe.
and I guess that's why we're getting inundated with strip clubs all of a sudden...because they have been around the area since it was settled. Were they located in the mines?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3:59 AM

  • 3:59 am, many of the local clubs have been here near 20 years. Som even longer than that. Not in the mines, but close enough for the miners to go after the work day camce to a close.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:24 AM

  • to 359 am- ever hear of Blaze Starr, Gypsey Rose Lee? They are strippers who were around in the 30's.
Ever hear of the play Gypsey?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:59 AM

  • okay, let me put this together, 5:24 & 11:59. In 3:59, you said they (strip clubs) have been around since the area was settled and coal was king. Right?
Well this area was sparsely settled in the mid 1700's (give or take a few decades). Coal mining was not established until (rough guess) later 1800's, peaked, then ended around the early 1970's...which is more than 20 years ago.
Now am I supposed to understand that the colonists and Indians had strip clubs going back then...and that Gypsy and the other strippers came this coal king area to entertain the miners after a hard day's work during the '30's...very money-less early post-depression era...when bootlegging for income was still in its prime even in this area?
So in other words, you are saying the miners attended byobootleg strip clubs all over this area, and they tipped with their meager wages?

Well, I'll tell you, my dad was a coal miner who retired in the late '60's. And I'm positive that he and his co-workers had no excess money to spend on any kind of strip joints if they existed since half the time (when laid off) he was standing in line for govt.-rationed food products. My coal-mining grandfather and his co-workers weren't even that fortunate.
So that brings us back to this area being currently inundated with strip joints for guys who can't get dates.

  • 11:59, How about Anna Nicole Smith, whose son just died of a drugoverdose? Or Susan Atkins, the Manson Gang serial killer? I can name you 10 infamous strippers for every oldie you dig up.
