News Update

Salem endorses adult business rules.

34 Comments:

  • Let's point out some things from this article shall we.

    1. "Payne reminded the commissioners that, "by law, we cannot ban such businesses or write the law in such a restrictive manner" that they effectively could not exist."

As such, these places are legal as is Club10. Which means you can not force them out by making them illegal, and they can always fight against any law that intends to harm and constrict business too much.

    2. "The regulations would limit such businesses to areas zoned Highway Business District and enforce a 300-foot buffer between them and day care centers, educational facilities and schools, places of religious assembly and most residential and agricultural areas."

Wow, just as Club10 is. In the Business District, not near schools, or religious places. PERFECT!

    3. "The new rules would prohibit the display of sexually explicit materials from the windows of such businesses, limit signage, specify lighting levels for entrances and parking lots and require continuous videotaping of those."

Club10 does not do this anyway. Nothing in the windows except the name itself. Nothing explicit. Wonderful!

    4. "Owners would have to pay a $500 application fee for a permit from the chief of police and undergo a criminal background check."

Much the same as our area now. Back ground checks are the norm for permits.

    5. "I just want to clarify for the public that we are not trying to establish such businesses ... and not trying to restrict adults from sexually oriented material to which they have a constitutional right."

WOW! We have right to adult entertainment! You have to be KIDDING ME! Mr.Family is trying to take away that right from us locals. That seems wrong to me. I have a constitutional right. And you. forcably trying to scare people off is WRONG. I would like to thank you for this article. It proves the clubbers points very well. Thank you.

  • Who really cares what goes on outside the state. Let's keep the news local.

  • Good idea! Let's point out the BOTTOM line from the article.
'She quoted the new language of the new rules that are intended "to promote the HEALTH, SAFETY and MORALS and the GENERAL WELFARE of the citizens of the city. We're just strengthening the ordinances we currently have."

WOW! Salem believes in protecting the constitutional rights of the health, safety, morals (got that word?), and general welfare of their citizens who have the same rights as we do here. Isn't it odd that councils have to enact ordinances to keep you people in control?

Now let's point out Salem's new rules that club 10 is not abiding by:
"the new rules prohibit real or simulated sex acts, lap dancing, or tipping an entertainer directly."
And you talk about "nothing explicit"?
Mr. Family is giving the decent people of this area the opportunity to voice our say that sex clubs are not wanted here! It's our constituional right!

  • pa supreme court said the pa constitution gives people the right to dance naked if they so choose freedom of expression--
the court says the pa constitution grants more rights than the federal constitution. i guess mr family wants to change the pa constitution!

  • My husband has a friend who had a lap dance one time years ago when he was single. During it, he felt self-conscious and said he happened to notice the other guys who looked like perverts with goofy expressions on their faces. He said he didn't want to look like them and that was the end of it. He's the proud father of a nice family for over ten years.

  • Are you hearing that the club is having financial trouble? The place is huge, but mostly empty. That's fine with me.

Post more pictures. I appreciate your thoughts and the article links, but I think the pictures have the best effect. I know there are pictures that you aren't posting, and I'm not sure why. I can assure you that they were taken from public property. (9/3, 9/8, 9/9, 9/13).

    Keep up the good work.

i thought christians did not gossip--ie bear false witness.

  • 4:18 AM.
Why would Gclub10 have to abide by Salem's rules? I quote you

"Now let's point out Salem's new rules that club 10 is not abiding by"

And people's welfare is upheld around here. That is what law enforcement and the police are for. And Club10 is not breaking any laws.

You can not pick only certain rights to uphold. Or only the rights of certain peopl, which is what folks like you seem to want. Yes, you, and everyone else have the right to be safe, but others DO have the right to adult entertainment, even of you do not like it. But the adult clubs MUST follow the law, and Club10 is.
And it is our right to voice that many here want the club, and enjoy it. That is OUR right. Even if Mr.Family continues to try to hide the voice from the other side.

And finally, Club10 is following every ordinance that W-B Twp had in place when it's permit was filed, And these are the ordinances they have to follow, due to PA state law. They were posted on this site, and sex acts on stage WERE listed on there as legal in the zoned area, in which Club10 is located. Like it or not, YOUR local government made those ordinances. You folks just never took notice.

  • 10,12 a
degradeing women n men is not CHristian.
tell that to the club owner.
keep up the good work mr f.
empty place is fine with me too.
    mor pictures

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:27 PM

  • Some reasons why club 10 is not doing great business is the visible location people who go there are usually perverted and don't want others to notice , the dancers are not top quality they are not 10's by far and they charge more than other local clubs. Just a matter of economics, when your in competition and there are many dance clubs around you have to be better or as good as the rest to survive.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:16 PM

  • No one is forcing the women to dance, the women do feel degraded. I could argue it is not christian to take pics of people cars/ to harrass them. of course you can find almost passage in the bible to justify your dislikes.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:03 AM

  • First, you're the one who made comparative comments about club10 abiding by Salems's rules in #1,2,3,4, and 5. Why stop there? It would only follow suit that the bottom line of the article be pointed out instead of conveniently ignored.
Second, if you really believe your right to voice your opinion and your right to adult entertainment is being violated, prohibited, whatever, then clearly specify where, when, how. For now, it seems you just resent freedom of speech club resistance, which simply says club10 is not wanted and not welcome in our community by citizens who enjoys good, clean living. There are strips clubs elsewhere and nearby where you can indulge; therefore, I can't see how your voice and actions are totally or to any degree obliterated in the entire country.
Third, club10 MIGHT be following every ordinance due to PA state laws, BUT unless you are extremely naive or believe other people are naive, there are particular laws that have a tendency not to followed. You SHOULD know what I mean. I suppose you want us to believe club10 is policing those activites, see nothing, know nothing.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:37 AM

  • to 7:03 AM, how can you argue it is not Christian to take pictures (llegally obtained) and in your words, harass them, when you stated "of course you can find almost any passage in the bible to justify your dislikes"?
Are you saying you have greater authority over God and can argue His justifications that are to be followed according to His Word?
If so, that is a very, very dangerous path to follow!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:38 AM

  • re there are laws not followed-- you know what I mean. No I do not know what you mean--my crystal ball is in the shop.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:50 AM

  • Could it be that gclub10 is reducing its entry charge from $20 to $10 because, on a scale of 1 to 10, the girls who dance there are only a 5?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:25 PM

  • the door fee is 15 for those of you who want the truth. 20 for feature weekends and 10 if you are in the military or if a promo coupon is in the weekender. when did it change to 10? must have been sunday,,,sat was still 15 and I'm sure I will be paying 15 next time I go.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:22 PM

  • 722 its going to be zero when the club is closed lol

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 9:12 PM

  • Annon 9:12 When is the club closing... You have any insight on that?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:06 PM

  • Too bad the club isnt closing 9:12.
Wishful thinking on your part. But it wont happen

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:19 AM

  • Thw cover charge has never changed. Those that go to the club know this. Others hear a false rumor, and they jump on it like a pack of wild dogs.
The anti-club people seem to be grasping at any possible rumor they can in hopes of the club closing. They have been screaming "low on money" since the day the doors openend.
In the end, club isnt closing.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 5:24 AM

  • 9:12 that is right it is 0 when it is closed, but I was just saying when it is open what the cost.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:16 AM

  • clubs not doing good

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 3:43 PM

  • 3:43 Pm. The correct way to say it would be "The clubs not doing well"
But you would be wrong anyway. The club is doing fine.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 10:38 PM

  • 10:38 P The correct way to say it would be "The club's not doing well." (apostrophe "s")
But you would be still be wrong. The club is not doing good.

  • Darn this new fangled computer technology stuff! Can anybody help me with my computer problem.
Every time I read club supporter comments, there is static or something that interrupts the continuity of their sense, I guess.
For instance, the club supporters always seemed to not like religious folks or anyone else who talks morality and call them do gooders. Now I read that the club supporters want to be considered as do gooders because of their charity drive.
Is anybody else having this same problem with their computer?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:22 AM

  • to 618 am-- the correct way of saying the club's not doing well-- but it is--
finacially-- it has been opened six months now--
drive by it on weekends--the parking lot is overflowing--drive by other clubs -- and you will see their parking lots aren't as crowded. believing the club is not doing well isn't going to do anything to close it--is it?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 11:50 AM

  • oh goody, more car pics to take. hear that camera buffs??????

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 2:57 PM

  • 11:22AM,
Yes I have the same problem as well. It seems that every time a pro10er blurts out their vomit it never sticks to one topic but affects everyone. Their filth spreads to all walks of life. I usually compare them to a dog who goes back to eat its own vomit. They just can’t help it, their minds are truly demented. They are sick and need professional help.

  • The club is doing neither good nor well. Their current ad in the Weekender panders to college boys by offering $10 admission with school ID, which explains why many of the pro-club posts sound so incredibly immature and petulant. Of course, most of us already know that guys who frequent strip clubs are still struggling through adolescence, regardless of their chronological age, since mature, self-confident men do not find entertainment in objectifying women.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:36 AM

  • It seems the camera buffs are dwindling-- soon it will be cold-- and dark early-- hope mr. family will pay if you get into a crash taking pics while driving.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 12:19 PM

  • Anon 8:36
Glad to see you are such a expert on people that attend the club.
Most of you know? Just as many of us know that the people who come to this site to judge others are self-riches, intolerant, religious addicts with nothing better to do than try to take stick their noses in others lives. Just as the self-riches religious folk always do. Force their beliefs down others throats and justify it anyway they can.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:48 PM

  • You pro10ers must be dumb or something. I know of investigations where photos were taken up to two miles away and you can count the pock marks on the person face being photographed. Trust me; I can take a picture of the smutty smile coming out of G10 all the way from I-81. So don’t kid yourself about some hocky pocky magic photography, credible pictures can be taken rather easily.

  • 7:48 Thanks for proving my point. I'm the atheist who posted at 8:36. I have no idea what "self-riches" means, but as for "tolerant", being among the 8% of Americans who do NOT believe in a supreme being, I think I'm much more tolerant than those who immediately attack religion whenever they can't come up with a logical rebuttal. People don't need to "stick their noses" into your life to know that your argument stinks.
