VOTE YES!!!!!

Because many who frequent this website live in Wilkes-Barre Township, let me take just a moment to express my appreciation for what the Wilkes-Barre Township supervisors are trying to accomplish this Tuesday.

They are giving us the opportunity to let our voice be heard.

When you vote in Tuesday's primary you will need to respond to this question, "Do you favor the prohibition of the operation of establishments, commonly referred to as bottle clubs in Wilkes-Barre township?"

If we vote "YES," strip clubs that operate as BYOB or "bottle clubs" will no longer be permitted in Wilkes-Barre Township. This includes Gentlemen's Club 10.

So pleeeease.... if you are a resident of WB Twp., be sure to vote "YES" in Tuesday's primary. You can help end this club once and for all, and hopefully prevent other clubs of this nature from setting up shop here in our back yard. Explain this issue to your neighbors and friends. Give them a ride to the polls. Let your voice be heard.

Of course our "good neighbor," Attorney Elaine Cook who represents Gentlemen's Club 10, is now threatening to sue Wilkes-Barre Township over this issue. How lovely. I think that's her answer to everything.

Ms. Cook... your threats aren't going to prevent us from voting on Tuesday. You can threaten all you want. Your comments prove time and time again that you could care less about what the residents of Wilkes-Barre Twp. think about this issue. After we cast our "yes" votes on Tuesday, would you like to drag us all into court?

To the "values voters" in WB Twp., this is our moment. Please don't let it go to waste. Vote "YES" in Tuesday's primary!

  • If this vote goes through, Gclub 10 can have the girls put on G Strings, and still remain open. You realize this right? The club does not have to close even if this vote goes Through, then he can get a liqour license.

  • I want to ask you a serious question Mr. Family. Have you ever considered the opinions of people who do not have a problem with the club? I don't think you have.
There are 5 massage parlors, 5 strip clubs, 3 adult books stores, and 7 escorts services in our area.
Many have been here for 10 years. None of the properties around any of these establishments has fallen in recent years. Downtown Wilkes-barre has taken a large hit. Do to not a single prospering business. And none of these adult properties are near down town.
None of the clubs have caused any major issues.
You have posted potential problems that these places can cause, and that IS a good idea. People do need that info. However, has it ever crossed your mind that not every person that goes into a strip club is one of the stereotypes that you have suggested? Not all are sex addicts, or criminals. Is it possible that some people just enjoy this type of entertainment? I posted a positive look at the adult business, from a professional point done by a woman who specializes in this very discussion.Yet you choose not to post it as it was not negative. As many people do when it comes to anything to do with sex outside the home they only show the negative, like many in the media.
HBO has various shows on this as well. Some show the bad, other show the good. G String Divas is a good example. As is "Cathouse" the documentary on the Moonlight Bunny ranch in Nevada. Both are done with taste and show the how clean and professional these places can be run.
I am not saying these places should be forgotten or we should turn a blind eye to. But do not throw them in with the rest. Not everyone feels the way you do.
Some everyday ordinary people may actually like this kind of club.
    Food for thought

  • Actually. They may have a plausable lawsuit if it passes. SInce they were open before this was passed. I remember somehting in the paper a while back. I read that if the township changes the laws after they open they can be liable for up to 1.4 mil.

  • Mr. Family you focus only on one club which is Club 10, could it be that your are a local resident or business and it offends you directly. Note there are several sex businesses throughout the county, why not put a ballot out county wide and let all the county voters decide rather than being bias and picking only on one business. This will surely lead to a legal challenge. Had this question been posed to all county voters the challenge in a court of law would perhaps be less contested, besides you surely would have the media more on your side..Sorry but .Little thought was given here.
