Dear Abby

Even "Dear Abby" has weighed in on this debate. Very good article with comments from those who have dealt with sexual addictions (or have family members with sexual addictions) that were fueled or birthed by strip clubs.

  • Hmmm...

    As quoted from the article:

"Dear Abby is written by Pauline Phillips and daughter Jeanne Phillips."

    Also, and more importantly:

"Abby shares more than 100 of her favorite recipes in two booklets: "Abby's Favorite Recipes" and "More Favorite Recipes by Dear Abby." Send a business-size, self-addressed envelope, plus check or money order for $10 (U.S. funds)"

Think this may be just a wee bit biased toward women and just related to help her sell more of her recipie booklets to women for $10.00 ?

  • Dear Abby ? You really need to give this thing a rest. Aren't your 15 minutes of fame up yet ?

  • get over it already. maybe your jealous because you can't get these women even if you pay for them.

  • get a life.

  • How could someone who spends all of his time sitting outside of a strip club taking pictures call himself "mr. family"? Do you take the family with you?

  • WOW! So people can become addicted to something? WOW!! I hope that doesn't happen with cigarettes, alcohol, gambling, or eating. I never thought of that! I bet some can become addicts to TV, or video games, or religion.

  • Excuse me, Mr. Family, could you post a link to your website that criticizes the heroin and crack dealers and posts their customers' license plates on the Internet? You see, to me, and most other sane people in the county, the drugs and the crimes related to drugs, like robberies, burlgaries, and purse snatchings, are much more of a concern than naked ladies. So, if you're so concerned about our community, maybe you should reconsider the target of your feeble campaign.

  • Here's a good list of links regarding Priests and Child sexual abuse:

    http://www.bishop-accountability.org/?gclid=CMjo8ar84YQCFQMKOAodjRKSmQ

    Or
    http://www.snapnetwork.org/

    Or
    http://www.americancatholic.org/News/ClergySexAbuse/

    Or
    http://news.google.com/news?q=Priest+Sexual+Abuse&hl=en&lr=&sa=X&oi=news&ct=title

If all you're going to do is sit around all day and google "Strip Clubs" , why not get more involved in saving the "Family" by stopping sexual abuse of children by priests, ministers, athletic coaches, etc.... The bible bangers need to start looking within their own circle before they start criticizing others. It seems that churches are almost strip clubs anymore with all the sex that goes on inside them.

Strip Clubs shouldn't be real high on a list of things that need to be changed to help save families. Children wouldn't even know what is in the building on Mundy street unless they are told by their parents. Why they would tell them is beyond me.

Someone mentioned in a previous post that they wouldn't be watching the parade for the circus because of the strip club. That's just ludicrous.

You keep saying that you feel sorry for the WB Township police. Why? Have you checked with the Police to see if they've actually been called to this establishment? Do you know for a fact that the police are as heavily burdened as you keep claiming? I would bet that they are not. If they are overworked by the opening of 1 club, why not post some facts about it? I know why...Your claims are fictious and only exist in your warped little head.

I know for a fact that some of you bible bangers actually cause the police more work because of all your protests, prayer meetings, and whatever else you feel the need to protest. I saw no less than 2 police cruisers have to keep patrolling your protest of the club a few weeks ago. I've never seen the police patrolling the strip club. So who is causing the township more work? I would bet it's the bible bangers who cause a burden on local cops with all your "prayer meetings", which are called that for reasons unknown to me. Why not call them what they really are, Protests.

Find something that REALLY affects the family to protest.

  • Sounds to me like a lot of people are getting defensive about this topic....because Mr. Family is hitting a cord of truth. Seems to me that he's telling many of us what we don't want to hear because we might just consider living better.

Mr. Family, here's to your 16th minute of fame. May there be many more.

  • A few thoughts...

    1. I am not Catholic. I don't deny that some priests have been found to have lived a double life. I highly doubt, however, that can be said for the majority of priests.

    2. EVERY strip club owner exploits women and feeds sexual addictions. There are no exceptions to that fact.

    3. The point of this website isn't to be a forum on people's opinions of priests, heroine, recipes, etc. One of the most juvenile ways to debate an issue is to try to change the subject and point out every other problem on earth that may or may not be a worse blight on society. That is what most defenders of strip clubs tend to do, including their lawyers.

  • I agree with Mr. Family on this whole issue. I have no use for ANY strip club because I see them as pointless. Strip clubs are for guys (and maybe some women!) that are insecure in their marriage/relationship.

Be that as it may, why don't some of you who are crying about what Mr. Family is trying to do here just grow up, and spend some real time with your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend.

  • Stick to the subject of this site. Its all about strip clubs. Sure, there are other things that are addictive also in this life, but so are strip clubs and what goes on in them. And what do these men do in them and when they leave the club what are they thinking? Very dangerous situations could occur from their actions if they are unstable to begin with. Why do men have to go to a club that show naked women? Are they that much of a low life that they have to degrade women like that? Can't they find a girlfriend or spend some time with their own wife? How would they like it if it was their daughter up there dancing naked and strange men looking at them? I would certainly be afraid for the women going home at night after dancing in a club such as that? I hope that someday these men realize that this is not the right thing to do with their evenings. There are more intelligent ways to spend a day than wasting away in a club such as this. Keep up the good work Mr Family Man and know that there are good people out there that want a good clean life for everyone. God bless

  • MR. Family, I am a Pediatric Physician and a Child Psychologist in the Valley.

Your pursuit of closing a strip club is commendable, however, there are so many other causes that would warrant a win.

Why not work for the cause of stopping Domestic Violence, Racism, Child abuse, etc.

This acting on a strip club is silly.

Get a real position, and a real cause.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 8:55 PM

  • Believe me, if I could fix every problem I would.... and I would certainly appreciate your help.

I have chosen my battle, and it seems to be working.

I find it unfortunate that an educated person, such as yourself, seems unaware of the bigger picture here. I'm not just trying to stop a silly little strip club. I'm trying to discourage an onslaught of silly little strip clubs and sex shops. These places contribute to the destruction of families and society.

Besides, a crusade does the heart good.

By Blogger Mr. Family, at 9:34 PM

  • Maybe you should try it out. You may just change your position on the topic.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 4:34 AM

  • Mr. Family said:

"2. EVERY strip club owner exploits women and feeds sexual addictions. There are no exceptions to that fact."

And what is your basis for this statement? I can say "THERE IS NO GOD" or "ALIENS EXIST" and that there are no exceptions to those statements, since, without any statistics to back them up or dispute them, my claim is just as valid as your's.

Where is it that you are obtaining this information?

  • In Luzerne County you have
at least three adult book stores
    one adult movie theatre
    3 gay bars
    at least three strip bars
    and several massage parlors
    Doesn't surprise me that
dear abby doesn't like strip bars.
but what happens when slot machines come into luzerne county?
