Well done

A big "thank you" to everyone who got out the vote yesterday. Wilkes-Barre Twp. residents let their voice be heard and by an overwhelming margin (80% to 20%) stated that they do not want BYOB clubs operating in our area.

This is a step in the right direction.

  • You realize that doesnt mean the club will close right? If they tell them thay can't be a BYOB, then they can get a liquor license, have the girls wear g-strings and stay open, like the other clubs in the area. They can also be "granfathered" in. Since they were open before this law. Which happens ALL the time.

  • Yeah! We prefer TOPLESS bars so we don't have to BYOB it........less to worry about. Easier to focus on the ladies!

  • Now my question to you Mr Family is
What can be done with GClub being that they were aleready in biz before this came to be? Can you please explain how this works because I am confused
    thanks

  • According to the paper it was a little over 100 votes so 80% how did you get that figure? and to my last question that did not get posted--how much more is this going to cost the tax payers? I already heard 6 figures to try to stop it so far.

  • Ha ha ha. If they ban BYOB, Gclub10 can go G-string, and sell alcohol, or just say no boose on the premisis and still have full nude dancers LOL. The ordinence has nothing to do with nude dancing, just the BYOB part! Strip on!!!

  • We'll we did our part hopefully the township can use this yes vote, and not waste our money! Good job everyone!!!!!

  • Remember BYOBs are NOT synonymous with strip clubs. All strip clubs that have full nudity are BYOBs but not all BYOBs are strip clubs. Wilkes-Barre Township residents have outlawed all BYOB establishments. A move that prevents even restaurants from operating as BYOBs as some very good ones in NEPA do. Club10 maybe outlawed from having alcohol on the premises but this law does not stop the activity that you are against. I guess you are hoping that the lack of alcohol will translate into a lack of business for Club10. You might be right about that, but I do not like using a shotgun approach to the problem. If a community wants to outlaw strip clubs then regulate or outlaw strip clubs. Don't outlaw other possible businesses. Passing the law in Wilkes-Barre Township might close down Club10 but it was a lazy persons way out of the problem. Wilkes-barre township has laws regulating strip clubs now, when are they going to enforce them?

  • I'm sorry but, I hear on the radio this morning that this won't really effect gclub 10...

  • thanks to all now enforce this and they will be gone

  • With the new ordinance Club 10 has lowered their age limit to 18. Now they don't have to worry about underage drinkers and they have tapped into a new group of customers. I'm sure the security who is employed at Club 10 is relieved as well. They don't have to toss any drunks out. As I stated before, (but Mr. Family didn't approve my post) The ordinance will not hurt the club, they don't profit from alcohol. If anything you hurt future businesses for low cost BYOB clubs that the hard working and underpaid young adult would enjoy.

  • Great job voters!!!!!! Mr. Family, Put those license plates on the site the more the merrier, If there is nothing wrong with this then why does it bother these guys? Oh yea, you can't get fired for doing things on your own time, Or maybe the person was on company time huh? The teacher should have known better, he deals with children, you just don't go there it's a morality issue.

  • The vote will stop other BYOB bars from opening in Wilkes-Barre Twnsp. but it will have no effect on Club 10. You wasted your time Mr. Family. You are now overdue to get yourself a hobby. Maybe you should start playing BINGO.

  • Mr. Family you haven't stopped anything really except to possibly bring liquor into the club..There's only one way you can stop a strip club from operating and this is when either drugs are used in the premises or a dancers perform lewd acts and that can only be done by undercover police work..so unless you work with the law your waving in the wind..

  • I think Mr. Family is helping the police, he has a record of all the license plates. If something happened at the club he would save them alot of time looking for witnesses. Another good reason for why you do this, security. I think club10 should pay you for your FINE SECURITY.
    Keep up the great work!!!!

  • I live in Wilkes-Barre Township and just happen to live on the same street as our mayor. I have talked to him about this a few times and all he has been able to tell me is they are fighting the club being open but to no avail. Why then do they keep fighting this and costing the tax payers money. I say until the Township finds anything wrong with the club itself or the operation of the club in mention why not let it be and focus on other issues that can be addressed???

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 7:37 PM

  • there are only so many liquor licenses avaiable in w-b township, and for one to be transfered into w-b township, guess who has to approved the transfer....w-b township council! now that will never happen!!!
if you think the township is hard to get along with, the PLCB will be up for any game that club wants to play. by the way, the PLCB ALWAYS wins....there will be no liquor license at that location!

  • I believe liquor licenses are now county wide and not the old rule as to by town. But also on what grounds would they use for them not to have one? That too would pose a problem if they let someone down the road have one they would be setting themselves up again.
