John Adams
America is a wonderful place. In America, we enjoy something called "liberty" in a unique fashion when viewed through the lens of human history. What is liberty? Liberty is a combination of two ingredients: 1. Freedom and 2. Responsibility. That means that for liberty to continue abounding in the United States, we must value freedom so much that we become responsible stewards of it.
Responsible stewards of freedom do not use their freedom as a license to do evil. There are many things that we are technically free to do. But not everything that we are free to do is beneficial or responsible.
Our founding fathers (the men who thought up and fashioned this government....the men who drafted our esteemed Constitution) recognized this as a fact. Here is an interesting quote delivered by John Adams, our second president, and one of the founding fathers of the United States.
We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.
John Adams (1735 - 1826)
In a nutshell, what he was saying is this: Our country was designed to be operated by men and women with a moral backbone. Without a strong moral and ethical foundation (the Judeo/Christian ethic), our country can and will be ruined.... one issue at a time.
Strip Clubs such as: The Carousel, Cabaret, Planet Pocono, The Pleasure Dome and Gentlemen's Club 10 chip away at the moral fabric of our great country. As this fabric is torn to pieces by people who fail to understand true liberty, the rest of us are left to put things back together again.
I am not going to sit back and let you destroy our corner of America. You can call us names. You can bash our religious and moral convictions. You can question our motives. Do what you like.....but this issue will remain on the forefront from this point on. If you think we are going to stop posting pictures.... you're wrong. If you think we're going to stop watching what you're doing AND reporting your activities to the authorities.... you're wrong. If you expect us to just sit back and do nothing while you show little regard for our families and communities.... you're kidding yourself. If you are hoping that the pressure you're experiencing from the public is going to subside, you will be waiting for a long time.
In the meantime, we pray daily that you experience a true change of heart.

Mr. Family,
If there was a way that you could possibly excel in your campaign's meaning, this posting would have to be it.
Each of your sentences enhanced the quote by John Adams in such a clear, reasonable, and determined manner.
I particularly like the sentence: "Responsible stewards of freedom do not use their freedom as a license to do evil." I have often thought throughout this campaign that just because something is legal, that doesn't make it morally right. We all have a conscience, and we all should respect our own moral conscience, and to help others achieve or retain their dignity.
And I agree that we are very resilient to all forms of bashing, which means we have strong, virtuous characters.
I really, really hope and pray that those who now support the club will thoroughly read your posting and will realize that this concerns each and every one of us, instead of them against us, or we against them. It was not meant to be that way, but instead reaching out and caring about others. We are all in this world together and should look out for each other's well-being. That has often been misconstrued as telling other people how to live their lives, which is not true. I and many others view it as not being selfish,ie, self-less towards others. Our hearts tell us to extend ourselves.
In all, I can see nothing wrong or no harm with anything that I have written. If anyone does, then he or she has not grasped the full meaning of what I said about caring for others in any or all ways possible.

"we all should respect our own moral conscience, and to help others achieve or retain their dignity."
but who should say or determine what is moral to others? Dignity and morals is for each to determine for themselves, being with in the law of course. I do not like tatoos, I feel there is nothing dignified about them, yet many people have them including my family members. Strip Clubs and Adult stores may not be for everyone, but you make your own moral judgement no one else should make them for you. you read the bible, attend mass and pray and I say good for you. I attend mass, believe in God and believe you have the right to make your own adult decisions.

Um, John Adams lived in Massachusettes where slavery was illegal.
Here is a brief excerpt from David McCullough's biography of John Adams:
While denying Jefferson a place on the title page, McCulloch compares Adams and Jefferson through nearly every major development leading to war with England and the formation of the nation. Adams is the farmer. Jefferson is the plantation owner. Adams opposes slavery. Jefferson’s slaves do his bidding. Adams is an extrovert. Jefferson is an introvert. Adams is an unwavering Christian and student of Scripture. Jefferson rewrites Scripture to support his Deism. Adams is frugal. Jefferson is self-indulgent and dies deeply in debt.
As is often the case, detractors of this view tend look for the worst in others, even when it isn't there. Believe me when I say... there are still people who have convictions and actually live by them.

Mr. Family,
The Gentlemen's Club is now suing Wilkes-Barre Twsp. for a lot of money. If they win, are you willing to reimburse the Township? You don't want your neighbors' to have to pay an increase in property taxes? Also, if you and all your supporters really want the Gentlemen's Club to end, what don't you pull your money together and buy him out. It's only money. Isn't your values more important then money? I doubt it. Coward.

Please explain to me how this website is responsible for Gentlemen's Club 10 suing Wilkes-Barre Twp. I hear that alot, but I'm not making the connection.
In case you are unaware, Gentlemen's Club 10 has spent the past two years suing Wilkes-Barre Twp. It is their goal to bring lewd and immoral entertainment to the Township at any cost. They don't care that 80% of voters have expressed their desire to ban this form of seedy operation in their community. All they care about is the potential for fleecing people out of their money.
I applaud the Township officials who are doing their best to stand up to the club. Gentlemen's Club 10 has shown itself to be a nuicance from day one. We will all be better off when they are no longer in operation.
The owners and investors as well as their attorney must be seriously committed to the expansion of the porn/stripping industry if they are truly willing to spend years of their lives force-feeding this garbage on our community.
Give it time. I can see brighter days up ahead.

I came upon a highly comparative letter to the Mr. Family philosophy in today's Citizens Voice, Letters to the Editor column. Briefly in essence, it is about riddng drug dealers from drug infested houses, who are dangerous nuisances to the community.
Now for those who insist that Mr. Family and supporters are telling other people how to live their lives, comparatively, is the W-B mayor, the police officers, and the law-abiding complaining citizens of those neighborhoods telling the drug dealers how to live their lives? Or are they saying that the drug dealers with all their dangers, corruption, and immoral ways are not welcome in their neighborhoods?
My guess is that staunch club supporters who insist that Mr. Family and supporters are telling other people how to live their lives will see no comparative connection.

I would suggest, Mr family, that you read more about John Adams. If you do, you will find out he was very ambivalant about religeon.
Adams rejected many fundamental doctrines of Christainity such as the trinity and the divinity of Jesus, he bacame a unitarian, he refused to become a minister, (at his father's insistance), instead saying a lawyer is a more noble profession.
he once referred to himself as a "church going animal"
he recognized the abuses that religeous beliefs lends itself to but he also belived that religeon "could be" a positive experinece on society at large.
Adams also said that Christians would prosecute each other if there were not checks and balances in the constitution.
Jon Adams was a great thinker and man, but to purport him as a man whose decisions and beliefs were
fostered mainly on religeon
is totally wrong.
Another quote ( about religeon)
" I wish you could live a year in Boston, hear their divines, read their publications, especially the
repositories, you would see how spiritual Tyranny and ecclesiastical Dominion are beginning in our country
at least struggling for birth. (letter to Thomas Jefferson)
I think the question here
is Would Adams consider
your efforts " spiritual
tyranny", after all you are using your religeous beliefs to try to close legally operating businesses, because your religeon finds them morally offensive.
you seem to be "running out of material" to bring John Adams" name into your efforts.

the difference is legal vs illegal
By Anonymous, at 10:25 AM
1. FREEDOM 2. RESPONSIBILITY
"Responsibity" is the key word that has been missing in a lot of the club advocators' vocabulary.
Some of the club advocators' yipped and yapped; they've made bizarre claims and accusations; they've dug so deep to make insensible points, that they can't even see daylight anymore. They've voiced their opinions with malice, arrogance, self-righteousness (different from righteousness), and with no vision of foresight. They've put their own careless spin on issues; and at times, have proven to have an incapability for reading absorption and/or retention ability on this website, as well as misinterpreted comments. They have repeated their views ad nauseum. Yet, they've offered nothing that suggests even a hint of thoughtful responsibilty.
Wise freedom-loving people know that they cannot separate the PRIVILEDGE of freedom from the responsibilty it requires.
"Education" is the next imperative word. Education combined with learning the responsiblities that are inseparable from freedoms would be a wise choice for club advocators' to consider. The education from what Mr. Family/supporters have to offer is invaluable.
The ad nauseum will continue...
So don't bother to argue or debate this blog to this writer.
What has been said, has been said.

there is nothing illegal going inside or outside of the club, so why do you care so much about it? go after the pleasure dome that's been around forever and there are drugs going in and out of that place, the girls are prostituting themselves. Go after the other fish and leave the legit fish alone! would you prosecute an innocent man?

Since you both have a need to question morality and the rejection of Christianity, come back to the present.
Gclub10 will give you plenty to question about morality and the rejection of Christianity.
And 9:39 AM You seem to running out of the same old, same old argument, and this one was boring besides.
Gee, I wonder if Sal will be remembered and quoted after centuries go by for his contribution to the U.S.A. as is John Adams.

I can't debate what you said,
youreally make no sense, it is all generalities.

History has vilified Adams as one of the most unpopular presidents, accused of adultery yet he defended American Indian rights, championed the abolitionist cause, and once called women's liberation "a virtue of the highest order."

to any 203 pm, I does not surprise that you Missed the point from John Adams
that some poeple ( such as you) use their religeous beliefs to ridicule and condemn others and such actions started wars and Pres. Adams feared the same would hahpen to usa, hence the separation powers of church and state in the us constitution.
BTW, you are most certainly entititled to your riligeous beliefs, but when
you force them on others, by
trying to close a business that our Supreme Court ruled
legal, you are forcing your beliefs upon others.
By Anonymous, at 8:01 AM
Well said Anon 8:01 am.
This is exactly why we needed seperation of church ans state. The church was tryign to force their laws on everyone, which is not right if you do not follow that certain faith.
Which is what Mr.Family and so many of the religious crowd are trying to do now.

If you think we will stand back and let you take away rights we have in this country you are wrong. If you think that we will let you force your beliefs on us you are mistaken. If you think that taking a photo will discourage us you are wrong. We will not sit back and let you tell us that we can not enjoy something that is perfectly legal because of your personal standings. Something that is enjoyed all across this country by millions and all should be able to do so if they wish. Report all you want to the authorities, nothing illegal is going on, waste your time trying, You will fail. There will be a surprise coming soon enough

By Anonymous, at 3:40 PM
How has a strip club taken away your living in a decent community?
how is anyone forcing indiscretions on you or the community?
